Description:
 |
'''Consumer (non-real estate) lending is one of the most regulated activities in the country, and with recent legislative and regulatory developments, more attention than ever is being placed on how you make your loans, and to whom. The Credit CARD Act, for one, imposes significant new operational requirements on ALL open-ended plans, not just credit cards. Plus the proposed new Consumer Financial Protection Agency could upset the apple cart altogether. We'll discuss these developments and the requirements for (non-real estate) loans, such as credit cards, vehicles, and student loans, among others.
There are several new rules in place that affect various types of loans you make, plus there is significant regulatory pressure in 2010. Make sure you understand the changes and know the regulators' hot button issues.
Covered Topics Include:- Truth in Lending - new final rules under Reg. Z, including the 3-step implementation process of the Credit CARD Act: what applies to what types of loans and what are the effective dates?
- New Reg. Z requirements for private education loans
- Fair Lending - more attention in 2010
- Lending to Insiders - common violations
- Lending on Securities and form U-1
- Unfair or Deceptive Acts (UDAP) - new attention on how you conduct your business
- FCRA developments - is your red flags program up to speed, and the new risk-based pricing notice
- Privacy and CIP requirements
- Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
- And more

| About Webcasts / Audio Conferences / Podcasts: |
Webcasts, audio conferences, and podcasts are presentations that you attend via the Internet, phone, or mobile device at a specified date and time for "live" versions, or at your convenience for "recorded" versions.
The live versions are interactive, meaning that participants can ask questions in real time, plus are a very cost-effective form a training because 1) you receive fast, convenient learning without any out-of-office time; 2) you can invite as many colleagues as you'd like to listen in on a single phone line; 3) you incur no travel expenses; and 4) you and your colleagues are back at work immediately after the session ends!
And though with recorded versions you do lose the ability to ask questions, you gain the ability to hear the presentation numerous times and to share it with others in your office.
Handout materials and the phone number for live presentations are made available to you prior to the event via email from the presenter and from the "MyAccount" link on the menu bar. Copies of the presentations are included with recorded versions. |
